Howth, Ireland - April 30 2016

Howth is nearby and so we decided to check it out!
It smells like fish, people have big homes and nice cars, and I got to cuddle a cat. (I miss Tigger!!)

Can you spot the seal?? *hint: you see just his head in the water

ahh he was so snugglyyyy!

creepin' on how big their front yard is

Street market where they tried Kettle Corn for the 1st time!
I'm such a nice person.

We attempted to find the Howth Castle.... but only found this tower instead. I'll have to go back.

Northern Ireland - April 25 2016

DHANE CAME TO VISIT!

The first human that I've seen in the past 3 months who I didn't have to "get to know". I had yet to travel up to the north, so I had a good excuse to go now. Yay!
We did a day tour which took us to 5 different locations with the last one in Belfast..which I need to go back and venture around there because we had very little time.

Location #1: The Dark Hedges

These intertwined tree tunnel was planted in the 18th century and has a very "enchanted" look. If you've seen Game of Thrones, apparently they have filmed some at this location. (I haven't seen it if you couldn't tell.) Loads of people have their weddings here and other special events. I'm sure it would look amazing with all the leaves attached as well..

I love Irish cows.

Location #2: Carrick-a Rede Rope Bridge

Walking around with this beautiful scenery literally felt like I was a Hobbit on an adventure! :)
Now when we arrived to the rope bridge, it was crazy windy!! And they made us put everything away and cross the bridge holding both sides of the rope. Laaaaammeee. But as we crossed back, I may have attempted to sneak my phone out....but only got footage of Dhane's butt.

Location #3: Giant's Causeway

Now this was pretty spectacular.
There are over 40,000 basalt columns that were formed by an ancient volcanic eruption (during the Ice Age I believe..) and they supposedly go all the way along the ocean floor to Scotland.

Now- here's what really happened. There was an Irish Giant (Finn MacCool) who's greatest enemy was the Scottish Giant (Benandonner). One day, Finn decided to fight Benandonner and so he built this causeway all the way over to Scotland. He then challenged Benandonner but as he saw him getting closer and closer he realized how much bigger he was! He didn't know what to do... so his wife put a sleeping potion in his drink. When Finn was asleep, she dressed him up as a baby. Once Benandonner arrived looking for Finn, the wife said that he would be back soon. As Benandonner was waiting he noticed the "baby" and thought "If that is the size of the baby.. I don't want to see the size of the father!!" So he got scared and ran back to Scotland destroying some of the causeway with his hammer so that Finn would not be able to reach him.
And that's the brief summary of Finn MacCool and his clever wife.

Sometimes while visiting- you, too, can turn into a giant.

Don't ask why I am doing.. as I don't know either. Probably in the middle of dancing actually.

I die every time I see this picture!! Can you find me??

Location #4: Dunluce Castle

We literally stopped on the side of the road for 3 minutes to take a peek.
Also apparently featured in The Game of Thrones.

Location #5: Belfast

We stopped in Belfast for 40 min. in which we had no time to do anything. But I can tell you that the defibrillator was invented and first installed in an ambulance here by Professor Frank Pantridge.
And there is a burn hospital that are really good at what they do-- people are brought here from all over the world to get burns treated. pretty cool, eh?

Actually, we briefly went inside this building and used the toilets. There was also a small history exhibit about WWII.
